Anyone else down sick?

Postby logscaler on Wed Mar 03, 2010 8:55 pm

Had to actually go see the Doc Tuesday to get some anti-crud juice.

Bronchitis, Sinus infection, Ear infection from the sinus side effect, mild case of pneumonia or close near to it, headache's, etc.

Felt bad enough I only went after the easy ones and some cache maintenance today.

Hope to be up and running for the harder ones by Saturday.

Lots of pollen on the Junipers on Lake B.C. today as well as the Bitterbrush blooming out.

Even some willows busting bud out that way.

Count one more into the realm... Started last Friday when we were out Crooked River way placing caches. Worked through it until getting back home on Sunday, then pretty much lazyed for the last few days. Of course, placing caches around CR for Fool-A-Palooza is a little more strenous than normal, I guess my legs were about as out of the weather as the rest of my body was. Feeling better now so we are going back out today to work on a few more. Who knows, might be caughing blood by this evening........   [-( [-( [-(

I had also thought a lung was coming out at any time.

Modern drugs seem to work wonders.

I don't feel half as bad as I was a few days ago.

PMOGUY was down with something for a little while as well, but he is in "The Valley" right now and enjoying life big time.

Think I am going to go out for a while and see how things work out.

Yeah... A few weeks back I had to be in close proximity of other humans (with colds) which gave me the one I had. :( People that I interacted with on campus this week at U of O seemed pretty healthy so I am hoping not to have picked up something else while I was there. [-o< I am off to get some exercise doing something outdoors today. The dogs are ready to run. 8)

I am going back over to the Crooked River and doing some vertical challenge hiking today to place one more cache and get another one straightened out so it will pass groundspeak. You're welcome to go with me but I think I am still in need of a little fumigation as my head is still plugged up and the ears do not pop quite right. No caughing blood yesterday, but today might be a different story????? You willing to take a chance?????

Gone outside myself.

Maybe this crud is done with.

Chaseing some dogs with PMOGUY should be an easy day of it.

Plantar Fasciaitus (sp). I have refrained from hiking now for 3 weeks. I can't remember the last time I had not hiked in 3 days. Until I'm healed, I will be riding my bike a lot.

Ouch Chief.

Red had that for a while and trying to walk at work on the concrete floors was hard.

I had thought mine was over with but after out yesterday, hack and cough came back. Not as bad but enough anyway.

Heading to "The Valley" shortly for a family dindin in Salem so I will be checking more caches over there as well.

Enjoy the nice day.

That's what I had a while back. Very painful. A lot of people "our age" who walk a lot seem to get it, but it is common in younger athletes, too. Fortunately, the Bend area has so many doctors and athletes that care is easy to find.

Rest by itself is unlikely to cure the problem. For me it took 10 sessions of PT that included stretching, ASTYM treatment (a type of massage that removes scar tissue and promotes proper healing, see http://www.astym.com/), ultrasound, and steroids carried to the injured area with electrical stimulation. Lots of stretching. And, of course, good shoes with proper insoles.

Good luck with it.
